Troy Aikman Discusses Future in Broadcasting Amid Contract Uncertainty
Troy Aikman, the Hall of Fame quarterback, attended an event in Dallas on Wednesday night alongside Peter King, related to King's new book, The Game. During the discussion, Aikman spoke about his future in broadcasting and the possibility of not calling NFL games in 2027.
Aikman indicated there is a 50-50 chance he might not be working in television next year, as his current contract with ESPN ends after the Super Bowl. He has expressed concerns regarding ESPN's lack of interest in extending his contract.
If Aikman does not return to ESPN, his options appear limited, especially with CBS having already chosen J.J. Watt as Tony Romo's replacement. Aikman has also mentioned the possibility of working with the Dallas Cowboys, hinting at an interest in a front office role, following his consulting experience with the Dolphins.
