Troy Aikman Discusses Role with Dolphins and Monday Night Football
Troy Aikman serves as both a color commentator for Monday Night Football and a consultant for the Miami Dolphins. He recently stated that he does not foresee a conflict of interest, noting that the Dolphins are anticipated to have a difficult season.
Aikman mentioned on Dallas Dialogue with Dale that ESPN typically features competitive teams on Monday nights, and since the Dolphins are not expected to perform well, he will not be calling their games this year. He acknowledged the team's financial struggles but emphasized that he has discussed his dual roles with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who has expressed no concerns.
While Aikman recognizes that broadcasters often have relationships within the league, he asserts that transparency is key. He stated that if he were to commentate on a Dolphins game, he would inform viewers of his connection to the team, allowing them to assess any potential bias in his analysis.
