Troy Aikman Faces Broadcast Restrictions Due to Dolphins Role

Troy Aikman, who started an advisory position with the Miami Dolphins this year, will face broadcast restrictions akin to those imposed on Tom Brady, who is a part-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.

The NFL's chief spokesperson, Brian McCarthy, confirmed that Aikman will have similar limitations, including virtual attendance at production meetings but no access to practice facilities. Both Aikman and Brady can conduct interviews outside team facilities but cannot attend practices.

Aikman, who has been a color commentator alongside Joe Buck since 2002, took on his role with the Dolphins to assist in hiring a new general manager. He will not be able to broadcast games involving the Dolphins this year, as the team is not scheduled for a Monday night game in 2026.
