Troy Parrott Transfers to Real Betis from AZ Alkmaar
Republic of Ireland striker Troy Parrott has officially transferred from Dutch club AZ Alkmaar to Real Betis in Spain.
Both clubs confirmed the agreement on Thursday, with Parrott signing a five-year contract. The transfer deal was reported to be worth 20 million euros (£17.1 million). Prior to this move, Parrott had been linked with West Ham and joined AZ Alkmaar in July 2024 after his time at Tottenham.
During his last season in the Netherlands, Parrott scored 16 goals in 28 matches, despite facing a knee injury that sidelined him for part of the season. He also made significant contributions to the Republic of Ireland's national team, including scoring a hat-trick against Hungary and two goals against Portugal, helping secure qualification for the World Cup play-offs.
