Trump's Approval Rating Reaches New Low in Recent Poll

President Donald Trump's approval rating has declined to 33%, according to a new Economist/YouGov poll released on August 11. This figure represents a 3 percentage point drop from the previous week and is the lowest recorded since he resumed his presidency in 2025.

The survey indicates that 60% of Americans view the president as lacking honesty and trustworthiness. Additionally, 65% of respondents believe the country is on the wrong track, an increase of 2 percentage points since late July. Concerns about Trump's age are also prevalent, with 53% of those surveyed stating that the 80-year-old president is too old for the role.

The poll, conducted from August 7 to 10 among 1,589 U.S. adults, has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.2 percentage points. As Trump faces declining approval ratings, Democrats appear to be gaining an advantage ahead of the upcoming midterm elections, leading Republicans by 8 points in a generic congressional ballot.
