Tsarukyan Discusses Nurmagomedov's Potential in UFC Lightweight Division
Arman Tsarukyan has expressed confidence that Usman Nurmagomedov would likely defeat most lightweights in the UFC, including the current champion, Justin Gaethje. Nurmagomedov, who recently completed his PFL contract with a title defense against Archie Colgan, remains an unbeaten fighter with a record of 22-0.
Despite his impressive record, Tsarukyan noted that Nurmagomedov has not yet faced the level of competition found in the UFC's 155-pound division. He acknowledged Nurmagomedov's wrestling and striking abilities, which make him a formidable opponent, but he refrained from labeling him as unbeatable. Tsarukyan highlighted rising contender Quillan Salkilld and former champion Charles Oliveira as potential challenges for Nurmagomedov, particularly emphasizing Oliveira's submission skills.
Tsarukyan considers himself a unique case, suggesting that while Nurmagomedov could defeat many in the division, he believes he could be an exception. He is set to face Mauricio Ruffy at UFC 331 as he aims to strengthen his position for a title shot.
