Tua Tagovailoa Misses Falcons Practice Ahead of Week 1
Tua Tagovailoa did not participate in the open portion of the Falcons' practice on Friday, raising concerns about his availability for the upcoming season opener against the Steelers.
The quarterback sustained an oblique injury during Thursday's practice, which resulted in Cooper Rush taking all first-team reps in preparation for the game. Rush joined the Falcons earlier in training camp while both Tagovailoa and Michael Penix were dealing with injuries.
Although Penix has returned to practice, he has been ruled out for this week as he continues to recover from a torn ACL. The team has not provided a specific timeline for his return, but Week 2 remains a possibility, which could further limit Tagovailoa's chances of starting if he is unable to practice this weekend.
