Twins Activate Joe Ryan for Series Opener Against Tigers

The Minnesota Twins have activated all-star right-hander Joe Ryan from the injured list, allowing him to start their game on Monday afternoon against the Detroit Tigers, marking the beginning of a three-game series.

Ryan had been sidelined for a month due to a strained left glute muscle and recently made a rehab appearance for Triple-A St. Paul. Prior to his injury, he had a record of 6-8 with a 3.65 ERA and 138 strikeouts over 125 2/3 innings in 23 starts for the Twins.

To accommodate Ryan's return, right-handed reliever Garrett Acton was sent to St. Paul. As the regular season approaches its final three weeks, the Twins find themselves in third place in the AL Central, trailing the Chicago White Sox by seven games and sitting 3 1/2 games behind the Cleveland Guardians for the final AL wild-card spot.
