Twins Activate Joe Ryan for Start Against Tigers
The Minnesota Twins have activated right-hander Joe Ryan from the 15-day injured list, and he is set to start against the Detroit Tigers. Ryan had been sidelined for a month due to a left glute strain.
In his absence, Garrett Acton was optioned to Triple-A to make room on the roster. Ryan, who earned his second All-Star selection this season, struggled prior to his injury, allowing 16 earned runs over three starts. Despite facing multiple health issues this season, he has not experienced any major injuries.
Ryan completed a rehab outing with Triple-A St. Paul, throwing three innings and reaching 42 pitches. He is expected to pitch between 50 to 60 pitches in his return. The Twins, currently trailing in the AL Wild Card race, have lost four of their last five series and will face the Guardians later this week.
