Twins Call Up Emmanuel Rodriguez for MLB Debut

The Minnesota Twins have announced the promotion of outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez from Triple-A St. Paul, marking his first appearance in Major League Baseball. In a corresponding move, infielder Ben Ross has been sent back to Triple-A.

Rodriguez is expected to make his debut in today's game against the Guardians. The 23-year-old's earlier season was hindered by a left thumb UCL surgery in May, which sidelined him for nearly three months. Since returning to play, he has performed well, achieving a .272 batting average with 11 home runs across 258 plate appearances at various minor league levels.

Rodriguez was signed by the Twins in July 2019 for a $2.5 million bonus and was ranked among the top 100 prospects at the start of the season. Despite his injury history limiting his playtime, evaluators recognize his potential, particularly his ability to make hard contact and his speed. His debut comes as part of a broader trend of young talent making their MLB debuts for the Twins this season.
