Twins Designate Taylor Rashi for Assignment
The Minnesota Twins have designated right-handed pitcher Taylor Rashi for assignment as part of a series of roster moves announced on August 7, 2026. This decision comes as the team selected the contract of infielder Kaelen Culpepper and recalled right-hander Zebby Matthews, while also optioning infielder Tristan Gray and placing Joe Ryan on the 15-day injured list due to a left glute strain.
Rashi was acquired from the Arizona Diamondbacks in June but did not make an appearance in the major leagues during his time with the Twins. He pitched 17 innings for the team's Triple-A affiliate, posting a 4.76 ERA with a strikeout rate of 28.7% and a walk rate of 11.3%. In his major league career, Rashi has a 5.40 ERA over 20 innings, all with the Diamondbacks.
As the trade deadline has passed, the Twins will place Rashi on waivers, hoping he clears to remain as non-roster depth. The outcome of his designation for assignment is expected to be known by early next week.
