
Two Cyclists Killed and Seven Injured in Tennessee Incident
On Wednesday morning in Hampton, Tennessee, a vehicle struck a cycling team from Milligan University, leading to the deaths of two sophomore students and injuries to seven others.
The deceased, identified as Haylan Engdahl and Brayden Rogers, were pronounced dead at the scene. Among the injured, four students were reported to be in critical condition and were transported to Johnson City Medical Center, with six remaining hospitalized by Wednesday evening.
The driver, John Benfield, 69, from Newland, North Carolina, has been charged with two counts of vehicular homicide and five counts of aggravated assault. Investigations are ongoing, led by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, which is seeking to provide clarity on the incident.
