Two Players from Rays and Brewers Become Minor League Free Agents
Two players who contributed during the regular season for the Rays and Brewers have chosen to enter minor league free agency, as reported by MiLB.com.
One of the players, Dunn, had signed a minor league contract with the White Sox last winter and was traded to the Rays in May. He was added to the active roster due to an injury to Ben Williamson, but after a brief stint where he recorded a .258 OPS in 12 plate appearances, he was sent back to Triple-A and subsequently outrighted off the 40-man roster in September.
Dunn has played in parts of three MLB seasons, accumulating a batting line of .197/.253/.275 over 157 plate appearances. He is known for his versatility in the infield and base-stealing ability. The other player, Pannone, made only one appearance for the Brewers this season, allowing three runs in three innings. He has had a limited MLB career, with previous stints including time with the Blue Jays and various teams in the minors and overseas.
