Ty Simpson Shines in Preseason Debut for Rams Against Chiefs
Ty Simpson, selected by the Los Angeles Rams as the 13th overall pick in the NFL Draft, made a strong impression during his preseason debut against the Kansas City Chiefs, contributing to a 20-12 victory.
In the game held in Kansas City, Simpson completed 21 of 25 passes for 190 yards, achieving two touchdowns without any interceptions. After a tied first half, he secured the win with two touchdown passes in the second half, the first to rookie Dean Connors and the second following an eight-play drive.
Simpson, who spent much of training camp as a backup to Stetson Bennett, had the opportunity to demonstrate his abilities. He previously had a successful college career at Alabama, where he amassed nearly 4,000 passing yards and led the team to significant playoff appearances. The Rams are looking to build on their offseason changes as they prepare for the upcoming season, starting with a game against the San Francisco 49ers on September 10.
