Tyler Guyton Leads Competition for Cowboys' Left Tackle Position

The Dallas Cowboys have entered their offseason program with Tyler Guyton and Nate Thomas competing for the left tackle position. Following a padded practice in training camp, Guyton has emerged as the frontrunner for the role.

Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer indicated that while the competition is still ongoing, Guyton is currently leading. Thomas was slated to take first-team practice reps on Tuesday, but Guyton's performance has put him ahead in the race.

The Cowboys drafted Guyton as the 29th overall pick in 2024, significantly earlier than Thomas, who was selected later. Guyton has faced challenges with consistency and injuries, including a knee injury that affected his playtime in 2025, allowing Thomas to start in his absence.
