Tyler Mahle Aims for Continued Success Against Phillies

Tyler Mahle is set to pitch for the Atlanta Braves against the Philadelphia Phillies in the third game of a four-game series on Sunday afternoon. Mahle, who has had a mixed season, has turned his performance around since joining the Braves, boasting a 2-1 record and a 1.48 ERA in five starts.

Previously with the San Francisco Giants, Mahle struggled with a 3-9 record and a 5.13 ERA before being traded to Atlanta on August 2. In his last outing, he allowed just one run over 6 2/3 innings against the Colorado Rockies, achieving nine strikeouts without any walks.

The Phillies will counter with Aaron Nola, who has also improved recently, allowing one run or fewer in three of his last four starts. The Braves won the series opener 5-2, but the Phillies responded with a 4-2 victory on Saturday. The Braves currently lead the NL East, four games ahead of the Phillies, with two games left in this series.
