Tyreek Hill Found Liable in Mixed Verdict of Assault Case
A jury in Miami, Florida, issued a mixed verdict in the civil lawsuit against Tyreek Hill, a former All-Pro wide receiver, on Tuesday. The jury found Hill liable for two counts of battery against his ex-wife, Lakeeta Vaccaro, and ordered him to pay $500,000 in compensatory damages.
Despite the liability on two counts, the jury ruled in favor of Hill on eight other claims made by Vaccaro, denying her request for punitive damages. Hill appeared relieved as the verdict was announced and embraced one of his attorneys afterward. The six-person jury deliberated for nearly four hours before reaching their decision.
Vaccaro, who is 30 years old, filed the lawsuit in September 2025 after alleging multiple instances of physical violence by Hill following their marriage in late 2023. Hill, currently an unsigned free agent after a knee injury last season with the Miami Dolphins, had previously settled another lawsuit earlier this year. Speculation about a potential new NFL contract for Hill continues, although his status under the league's Personal Conduct Policy remains uncertain.
