Woodley is currently preparing for a match against Khamzat Chimaev, which he views as a more significant challenge than a bout with Covington. He recently won his RAF debut against Joaquin Buckley and considers Chimaev a tougher opponent. Woodley also mentioned Olympic gold medalist Jordan Burroughs as a preferred matchup, emphasizing the desire for high-level competition.

In addition, Woodley highlighted UFC lightweight Arman Tsarukyan as another interesting opponent, appreciating fighters who engage in various disciplines. He believes that a victory over Chimaev would elevate his standing beyond what Covington currently represents.
