UAE Develops Alternative Energy Export Routes Amid Iran Conflict

The United Arab Emirates is actively establishing alternative routes for its energy exports and trade to prevent disruptions linked to the ongoing conflict involving the U.S. and Iran, as stated by UAE presidential adviser Anwar Gargash.

This initiative comes in response to recent Iranian missile attacks and assaults on oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, which have significantly affected Gulf Arab nations, including the UAE. Gargash emphasized that the UAE's energy exports and economic activities will not be compromised.

In addition to expanding port capacity along its eastern coast, the UAE is also developing pipelines, railways, and trade routes. Gargash noted that while there is potential for improved relations with Iran, rebuilding trust after recent attacks may take decades. He criticized Gulf Arab states for lacking a coordinated response to Iran's actions, highlighting the need for self-sufficiency in security alongside international partnerships.
