UCI Enforces Regulations at Tour de France Femmes, Two Riders Withdraw

The UCI took decisive action during the first stage of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, imposing fines totaling 2,750 CHF ($3,400 USD) for various infractions. A total of 12 violations were reported, with a notable reminder issued regarding the modification of frame plates, which must remain unaltered according to UCI regulations.

Among the fines, four team staffers and one press driver were penalized 500 CHF each for driving violations, while Alice Towers from EF Education-Oatly received a 250 CHF fine and lost 15 UCI points for littering. Defending champion Pauline Ferrand-Prévot was warned for riding on sidewalks, and Alison Jackson was cautioned for using a non-compliant riding position.

Unfortunately, two riders did not complete the first stage. Laura Tomasi from Uno-X suffered a concussion from a crash, while Alison Avoine from Ma Petite Entreprise was eliminated after finishing behind the time cut following the same incident.
