UCLA Bruins Emulate Indiana's Success in Big Ten Football
The UCLA Bruins are currently the most sought-after football team in Los Angeles, surpassing the Rams, Chargers, and USC Trojans. Located in Pasadena, the No. 7 Bruins are one of only three undefeated teams in FBS, alongside Miami and Utah, having performed well in their new Big Ten conference.
UCLA's recent history in the Big Ten has been challenging, particularly following a disappointing 3-9 season under former coach DeShaun Foster, who was dismissed after just three games last year. In contrast, Indiana has thrived under head coach Curt Cignetti, who led the Hoosiers to a remarkable 27-2 record, including a Big Ten and national championship.
In December, UCLA appointed Bob Chesney as their new head coach, mirroring Indiana's strategy by bringing along several staff members and players from James Madison University, where Chesney previously coached. While UCLA aims to replicate Indiana's success, they face challenges such as attendance issues at the Rose Bowl. The Bruins will host Nevada this Saturday before continuing their Big Ten schedule.
