UFC 333: Future Matchups for Volkanovski, Yan, and Other Fighters

After the recent UFC 333 event in Abu Dhabi, attention turns to the future of several fighters, particularly featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski and bantamweight titleholder Petr Yan.

Volkanovski secured a significant victory with a second-round knockout of Movsar Evloev, marking Evloev's first loss and earning Volkanovski a Performance of the Night bonus. He is expected to face Jean Silva next, who was present at the event. Evloev, now in a challenging position, may fight the loser of the upcoming bout between Aljamain Sterling and Kevin Vallejos.

In the co-main event, Yan defended his bantamweight title against Merab Dvalishvili, winning by unanimous decision in a trilogy match. Yan is likely to face either Sean O’Malley or Song Yadong next, while Dvalishvili may look for a fight against Mario Bautista. Other notable performances included Lone’er Kavanagh, who knocked out Ramazan Temirov, and Alexander Volkov, who won decisively against Rizvan Kuniev, both seeking title opportunities in their respective divisions.
