UFC Extends Partnership with Cleveland Clinic for Brain Health Study
On October 8, 2026, UFC announced the renewal of its partnership with Cleveland Clinic, extending their support for the Professional Athletes Brain Health Study until 2030. This multiyear commitment includes a $1 million contribution to the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in Las Vegas.
The study, which has been ongoing since 2011, aims to investigate the long-term effects of repetitive head trauma on athletes. UFC has contributed over $3 million to the research, which now includes participation from WWE and Zuffa Boxing athletes.
Led by Dr. Charles Bernick, the study is the largest of its kind, focusing on both active and retired athletes across various sports. It has enrolled more than 900 participants, who receive free assessments of their brain health. The research aims to identify early indicators of brain injuries and improve athlete safety.
