Ukraine Develops Mobile Drone Turret with Kalashnikov Rifles
Ukraine has developed a mobile drone turret equipped with two Kalashnikov rifles as its primary weapon. This initiative is part of a broader effort to create affordable assault drones that can be rapidly deployed to protect infantry units.
The turret has already been utilized in combat, with over five units undergoing operational testing. It was recently employed by the Security Service of Ukraine's Alpha Group special forces to neutralize a Russian ambush drone, according to the defense tech incubator, Brave1.
The design of the turret allows for quick scaling on the battlefield, leveraging the widespread availability of Kalashnikov rifles among military units. While the turret requires a soldier for manual reloading, it represents Ukraine's strategy to develop simpler and cost-effective systems for various military tasks, including ground assaults and logistics.
