Ukraine Resumes Strikes on Russian Refineries Amid Tensions
Ukraine has resumed its strikes on Russian refineries, with a recent attack reported in the Ryazan region, according to local officials. This decision comes after President Volodymyr Zelenskiy expressed his dissatisfaction with the US's handling of intelligence support amid ongoing Russian assaults on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
Previously, Ukraine had paused its refinery attacks following a ceasefire announcement by US President Donald Trump, who attributed rising diesel prices to these strikes. However, Zelenskiy indicated that Ukraine's patience had been exhausted due to continued Russian aggression, which has left many Ukrainians without power.
The governor of Ryazan confirmed that a drone attack had caused a fire at an oil refinery, and emergency services were assessing the damage. Zelenskiy criticized the US for its perceived favoritism towards Russia and stated that Ukraine would only consider halting its energy strikes if it received additional military support from the US.
