Ukrainian Drone Strikes Result in Eight Deaths in Russia

Ukrainian drone strikes have resulted in the deaths of at least eight individuals across several Russian regions, with incidents reported overnight and on Sunday. Targets included a warehouse belonging to Wildberries, a major online retailer in Russia, according to regional officials.

The Samara region, approximately 800 km from Ukraine's military positions, was struck, although local officials reported no casualties from the warehouse attack, which caused a fire that was subsequently extinguished. Ukrainian forces have intensified their operations within Russia, focusing on economic and energy targets to weaken Moscow's war efforts in Ukraine.

In the Saratov region, a drone strike on a residential building in Engels led to two fatalities, with additional damage reported to civil infrastructure. Ukrainian military sources confirmed attacks on the Saratov refinery and Engels airbase, igniting fires at both sites. Further casualties were reported in the Udmurtia region and Belgorod, where drone strikes resulted in multiple deaths and injuries. Russia's Defence Ministry claimed to have intercepted numerous Ukrainian drones during these incidents.
