Ulster Coach Richie Murphy Commends Team's Resilience in Close Loss to Bulls
Ulster's head coach Richie Murphy acknowledged his team's determination after they fought back from a 21-point deficit against the Bulls in Pretoria, ultimately losing 34-26 in the United Rugby Championship.
Despite the loss, Ulster secured a bonus point by scoring four tries, although they missed out on a second bonus point when Curwin Bosch converted a penalty in the final moments of the match. Marcell Coetzee, a former Ulster player, was instrumental for the Bulls, scoring two tries despite a brief stint in the sin-bin.
Murphy noted that his team struggled early in the game, which allowed the Bulls to dominate possession and territory. He expressed pride in his players for adhering to their game plan and coming close to victory. Looking ahead, Murphy emphasized the need for improvement in areas such as discipline and breakdowns before their next match against the Stormers in Cape Town.
