Ultra Pro Wrestling Faces Development Challenges and Unpaid Work Issues

Ultra Pro Wrestling, intended as a spiritual successor to the classic WWF No Mercy game, is facing serious development challenges according to a recent report from Insider Gaming. The issues include unpaid work, delays, missing rewards, and internal disputes.

Sam Vallely, the founder of Hyperfocus Games and the project's sole programmer, previously dismissed claims that the project was a scam. Despite raising over $83,000 through a Kickstarter campaign in February 2023, the game has yet to be released, and there is no playable demo available. Vallely's solo programming role has been cited as a significant factor in the development delays.

Additionally, the report indicates that several contributors worked without compensation, with at least one individual reportedly spending around $10,000 of their own money on the project. Vallely has denied these allegations, asserting that no employees were required to work without pay. As of now, Ultra Pro Wrestling remains unreleased, with a demo anticipated later this year.
