UNC Investigation Expands to Include Steve Belichick
The investigation that led to the resignation of North Carolina General Manager Michael Lombardi is broadening its scope to include Steve Belichick, the team's defensive coordinator, who is currently on medical leave.
Lawyers conducting the probe are reportedly questioning witnesses about allegations that Belichick may have used drugs while on duty or supplied drugs to at least one player. Additionally, the investigation is looking into claims of a sexual relationship between an unnamed member of the North Carolina recruiting staff and a player, as well as potential inappropriate relationships involving assistant coaches.
Interviews are being conducted with current and former players, parents, and staff, while investigators are also reviewing documents and text message exchanges. Although head coach Bill Belichick has not been directly implicated, he remains a significant figure in the unfolding situation.
