Unique Jimothy the Raccoon Card Sells for Over $20,000
A unique trading card of Jimothy the raccoon, a local sensation, was sold for $20,100 on eBay after being given away by the Seattle Mariners during a special event at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.
The card was part of the festivities on Jimothy Night, celebrated on August 5, where the Mariners distributed 20,000 rookie cards, including limited editions. The card was received by 13-year-old Abby, who attended the game with her family.
Initially unaware of the card's value, Abby's family learned of its rarity from other fans. After receiving multiple cash offers during the game, they decided to list it on eBay, where it attracted 100 bids. This sale sets a new record for stadium giveaway cards, surpassing the previous high of $19,800 for a similar card from the LA Dodgers.
