Updates on Seahawks' Quarterback Situation: Darnold's Injury and Lock's Performance
Seattle Seahawks starting quarterback Sam Darnold is expected to return from a unique soft-tissue injury for the Week 3 game against the Washington Commanders on September 27. In the meantime, backup quarterback Drew Lock has stepped in, leading the team to a 13-10 victory over the New England Patriots on September 9.
Lock's performance included 16 completions on 22 attempts for 187 yards, one touchdown, and no turnovers. As of Wednesday, the Seahawks are favored by 3.5 points in their upcoming game against the Arizona Cardinals. Although Darnold will miss this week's game, the Seahawks have not placed him on short-term injured reserve, indicating confidence in his recovery.
There is speculation that both Lock and rookie quarterback Jalen Milroe could see action in the game against the Cardinals. Milroe, a third-round draft pick, has not yet played in a regular-season game but may be utilized in specific plays to enhance the offense.
