UPUA Approves Lyft Subsidies and New Initiatives

The University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) convened on Wednesday to approve five bills and one resolution aimed at enhancing student engagement and safety.

Among the measures, the Halloweekend Lyft Subsidies bill was passed unanimously, providing $10 Lyft ride codes for students traveling around campus during Halloween weekend. This initiative aims to improve transportation safety for students at night.

Additionally, the UPUA endorsed a Domestic Violence Awareness March scheduled for October 20, which will involve community members walking in solidarity with survivors. Other approved initiatives include a cultural showcase by the Bangladesh Student Association and a sustainability event promoting student engagement in environmental efforts.
