UPUA's 21st Assembly Welcomes New Members and Discusses Save A Life Day

The 21st Assembly of the University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) convened on Wednesday to swear in three new representatives and confirm the executive director of records, Ray Ncube. The meeting featured presentations from THON and Students United Against Poverty, focusing on their initiatives and potential collaborations.

Emily Milton, the UPUA THON chair, provided insights into the history of THON efforts, while Rasha Elwakil and Isabela Drummond from Students United Against Poverty proposed a university-wide donation drop box for essential items. Following these presentations, President Kat Hogan and Vice President Maria Lopez outlined upcoming campus events.

UPUA also introduced Bill #11-21 to expand Save A Life Day, which aims to raise awareness about opioid overdoses and promote access to naloxone. The event is scheduled for September 24, and UPUA plans to incentivize participation with food and promotional efforts. The bill passed unanimously with a vote of 26-0-0.
