This marked Medic's return to his homeland after nine years, having relocated to the United States for training. He showcased his skills by knocking down Rodriguez with a combination of punches before the referee intervened as Medic continued his attack on the ground.
The victory was Medic's fourth consecutive first-round win, improving his record to 14 wins and three losses. Following the fight, he expressed a desire to face top contenders in the welterweight division, including Leon Edwards and Carlos Prates. The event also set a UFC record with 10 first-round finishes.
