Urvil Patel Prepares for Ranji Trophy with Confidence from IPL Experience
Urvil Patel is preparing for Gujarat's upcoming Ranji Trophy match against Delhi, having trained under the afternoon sun for over 30 minutes at the Palam ground. The 28-year-old wicketkeeper-batter focused on refining his attacking strokes during the session.
Patel's confidence has been bolstered by his experience with Chennai Super Kings in the 2025 IPL, where he made history by scoring a half-century in just 13 balls against Lucknow Super Giants. He expressed gratitude for the guidance he received from M.S. Dhoni while sharing a dressing room with him.
Despite his impressive performance in the IPL, where he scored 65 runs off 23 balls in one match, Patel acknowledged the need for improvement, having totaled only 129 runs in seven games this season. He recently scored 85 runs off 67 balls against Odisha in the Ranji Trophy, emphasizing his commitment to an aggressive playing style without self-doubt.
