US Confirms Deployment of Weapons in Space

The United States has officially confirmed the deployment of weapons in space for the first time. This announcement was made by Air Force Secretary Troy Meink during the Air and Space Cyber Conference held in Maryland.

Meink indicated that the U.S. has developed on-orbit space control weapons designed to protect the Joint Force from hostile actions. In 2024, the U.S. expressed concerns about Russia's development of a new anti-satellite weapon, although the White House assessed that the threat was not immediate.
