This figure represents an increase from the 51,114 attendees at the previous game against San Jose State, although the actual tickets scanned were significantly lower, with 35,585 for San Jose State and 45,833 for Fresno State.

Coach Lincoln Riley has countered claims of declining interest in the program, stating that attendance has risen each year during his tenure. The Trojans will next host Louisiana, followed by games against ranked teams including No. 2 Oregon and No. 17 Washington.
