Usman Nurmagomedov Completes PFL Contract Without New Deal
Usman Nurmagomedov, an undefeated lightweight fighter, concluded his contract with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) without securing a new agreement. His manager, Ali Abdelaziz, indicated that the promotion had an opportunity to extend his contract prior to his final fight but did not act on it.
Nurmagomedov achieved a first-round knockout against Archie Colgan on July 31, maintaining his perfect record at 22-0. Abdelaziz noted that Nurmagomedov took a significant risk by entering the fight without a new deal, but ultimately succeeded.
Following this bout, the PFL has a 90-day exclusive negotiation period during which Nurmagomedov's team will consider future options. UFC president Dana White has expressed interest in Nurmagomedov, although Abdelaziz emphasized that a move to the UFC is not guaranteed and will require careful negotiation and approval from Khabib Nurmagomedov.
