Usman Nurmagomedov successfully defended his lightweight title with a first-round knockout of Archie Colgan at a PFL event held at UBS Arena in New York. This victory occurred shortly after the announcement of the PFL's merger with Jake Paul’s MVP MMA.

The knockout came in under four minutes, marking Nurmagomedov's fastest win in the PFL to date. He credited Islam Makhachev for providing the crucial combination that led to the finish, which involved a jab followed by a high kick.

Nurmagomedov's corner included notable figures such as his cousin Khabib Nurmagomedov and coach Javier Mendez. Following the fight, Makhachev expressed uncertainty about whether the UFC would offer Nurmagomedov a competitive contract, suggesting that the PFL currently provides better financial incentives.
