Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Sets Duleep Trophy Record as Youngest Batter

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has made history by becoming the youngest batter to score a half-century in the Duleep Trophy, achieving this milestone at the age of 15 years and 175 days during the semi-final match between East Zone and Central Zone in Bengaluru.

Sooryavanshi reached his fifty in just 42 balls and went on to score 92 runs off 81 balls, narrowly missing a century. This achievement surpasses the previous record held by Laxman Singh, who was 16 years and 23 days old when he scored a fifty in 1969.

In addition to his batting success, Sooryavanshi briefly served as the stand-in captain for East Zone after Ishan Kishan was injured. He also played a key role in a successful DRS review that led to a crucial wicket for his team. East Zone bowled Central Zone out for 266 runs, setting the stage for Sooryavanshi's record-breaking performance.
