Valkyries Defeat Dream to Level WNBA Finals
In a tightly contested match, the Golden State Valkyries defeated the Atlanta Dream 67-62 on Saturday, leveling the WNBA Finals at two games apiece.
Gabby Williams contributed significantly to the Valkyries' success with 17 points, while the team's defense effectively limited Atlanta's star player, Angel Reese, to just eight points. Reese had previously excelled in the series, averaging 25.5 points and 14 rebounds in the Dream's earlier victories.
Despite trailing by 16 points at halftime, Atlanta made a strong push in the fourth quarter, narrowing the gap to 61-55. However, a crucial three-pointer from Veronica Burton helped Golden State regain momentum. Rhyne Howard led the Dream with 19 points, but Atlanta was unable to capitalize on late-game opportunities.
