Vaughn Taylor Leads After First Round of Ally Challenge

PGA Champions Tour rookie Vaughn Taylor finished the first round of the Ally Challenge in Grand Blanc, Michigan, with a remarkable 9-under-par 63, securing a one-stroke lead.

Taylor birdied his last four holes, while John Rollins, who also had a strong finish, ended the day at 8-under 64, just one stroke behind. Padraig Harrington followed in third place with a score of 7-under 65, and a group of players, including Paul Goydos and Michael Block, were tied for fourth at 6-under.

A total of 47 out of 78 golfers managed to finish under par at Warwick Hills. Taylor, who has yet to win on the tour, made three consecutive birdies on the back nine and added another at the par-5 first hole, despite a bogey on the fifth. Rollins played a flawless round, hitting all 18 greens in regulation, while Harrington expressed mixed feelings about the course despite his solid performance.
