Vernon Adams Jr. Out for Stampeders' Game Against Tiger-Cats, Josh Love to Start
The Calgary Stampeders will be without quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. for their Week 13 matchup against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats due to a head injury. Adams Jr. was limited in practice throughout the week and will not participate in Saturday's home game.
Josh Love, who joined the Stampeders last season, has been named the starting quarterback. This will mark Love's first career start after he stepped in for Adams Jr. during the last game against the B.C. Lions, where he completed six of ten passes for 58 yards and one interception in a narrow 30-26 loss.
Adams Jr. has had a strong season, throwing for 22 touchdowns and only two interceptions. The Tiger-Cats will also be starting a backup quarterback, Canadian Tre Ford, as their regular starter Bo Levi Mitchell is sidelined with a long-term ankle injury.
