Verstappen Aims for Improved Qualifying Speed at Madring

Max Verstappen's initial day at Madring saw Red Bull focusing on enhancing their qualifying speed after a mostly smooth first day at the new Formula 1 circuit.

In the opening practice, Verstappen placed fifth, followed by a sixth-place finish in the afternoon session, trailing Kimi Antonelli by approximately four tenths of a second. The team found the longer runs encouraging, providing a solid foundation for the weekend.

Verstappen expressed a desire to improve his one-lap pace and gain a better understanding of tire performance during race stints. Technical director Pierre Wache noted positive aspects regarding long-run performance and tire management, despite challenges posed by the bumpy road surface. As the team prepares for final practice, they aim to refine the car's balance ahead of qualifying.
