Verstappen Racing Finishes Ninth in Portugal
Verstappen Racing achieved a ninth-place finish in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup race held in Portimão. Max Verstappen, along with teammates Ben Barnicoat and Chris Lulham, faced difficulties during the race, including a drive-through penalty while contending for fifth place.
Starting from 13th position, Barnicoat advanced to eighth before passing the wheel to Lulham, who moved up to sixth. However, an incident involving Luca Stolz led to the penalty, dropping the team to 24th with less than an hour left. Verstappen, who had recently won consecutive F1 races, took over for the final stint and managed to climb back to ninth despite starting from 19th after a late Safety Car.
Verstappen noted that the team had a decent weekend overall, despite issues with the car's setup during qualifying. He expressed satisfaction with the car's performance during the race and highlighted the team's ability to recover from setbacks, indicating that valuable lessons were learned throughout the event.
