In the recent VFL Finals, several out-of-contract players from the Bombers, Cats, and Hawks showcased their skills, potentially improving their prospects for future contracts.
The Bombers secured a victory over Williamstown, with Elijah Tsatas leading the way by accumulating 32 disposals and eight clearances. Will Setterfield also contributed significantly with 23 disposals, eight clearances, and a goal. Other notable performances included Jayden Nguyen, who scored a goal from 15 touches, and a combined seven goals from Nikolas Cox, Jade Gresham, and Liam McMahon.
Meanwhile, Geelong's VFL team saw strong performances from George Stevens, Mitch Knevitt, and Jack Bowes, each recording at least 30 disposals in their qualifying final win against Tasmania. Knevitt added two goals and six tackles to his tally. In Box Hill's match against Werribee, Calsher Dear made a significant impact with four goals, including the match-sealing goal, while Finn Maginness and Henry Hustwaite also excelled in their respective roles.
