Vic Fangio Highlights Jalen Hurts' Progress Amid Future Uncertainty

During a recent press conference, Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio commended quarterback Jalen Hurts for his performance in training camp, noting that he appears to be faster and is adapting well to the new offensive strategies under first-year offensive coordinator Sean Mannion.

Fangio remarked on Hurts' ability to evade defenders during practice, emphasizing that the defense often misjudges their chances to sack him. Despite the positive feedback, questions about Hurts' future with the Eagles persist, with reports suggesting that the team may consider moving on from him if he does not secure a playoff victory in January 2027.

General manager Howie Roseman has not indicated plans for a contract extension for Hurts, who signed a five-year deal worth up to $255 million in 2023. Fangio expressed confidence in Hurts' adaptation to the new offense, which differs from previous years, and noted that designed quarterback runs will continue to be a part of the Eagles' strategy.
