Vikings GM Confirms J.J. McCarthy Practicing Ahead of Season Opener

J.J. McCarthy, the backup quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, missed the final preseason game due to an ankle injury, but he is expected to be available for the season opener.

General Manager Nolan Teasley confirmed during a press conference that McCarthy participated fully in practice over the last two days. He anticipates McCarthy will be included on the roster for the upcoming game against the Green Bay Packers, although he did not specify whether McCarthy would serve as the backup to Kyler Murray.

Additionally, Carson Wentz is also part of the 53-man roster, and the Vikings may finalize their plans for the backup position closer to the game by submitting inactive lists.
