Vikings Sign Odell Beckham Jr. Amid Receiver Injuries
The Minnesota Vikings have signed veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to their practice squad, a move that comes as the team faces injuries to receivers Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.
NFL insider Mike Florio noted that Beckham's signing might also serve as a warning to Jauan Jennings, who has not met expectations since joining the team on a one-year, $8 million deal. Jennings has only made two catches for nine yards in three games, despite being on the field for 95 percent of the offensive snaps in the last game.
Beckham, who previously worked with Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell at the Los Angeles Rams, is expected to begin playing soon, potentially impacting Jennings' role on the team. Florio suggested that Beckham could rise to the No. 3 receiver position, benefiting from matchups created by the presence of Jefferson and Addison.
