Vinicius Junior Receives Four-Match Ban for Hair-Pulling Incident
Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has been handed a four-match suspension, which includes missing the El Clásico against Barcelona, following an incident where he pulled an opponent's hair during a match against Villarreal.
The incident occurred in the 73rd minute of the game, which Madrid won 1-0. Vinicius received a straight red card for tugging on the hair of Villarreal's Nathan Saliba, just before he scored a goal that was later disallowed.
The Spanish soccer federation's disciplinary committee announced the ban shortly before Real Madrid's Champions League match against Roma. The suspension consists of two matches for the hair-pulling and an additional two matches for his aggressive protests towards referee Isidro Díaz de Mera after the red card was issued.
